Description

This Defiance tribute was dedicated to the survival of Alak & Christie Tarr!  It has been 7 months since the McCawley mines collapsed!  During those 7 months, Christie gave birth to an adorable baby boy, which she named after her late brother, Luke!  As those months passed, things began to make a turn on for Defiance in season 3!  Christie was one of the first 3 humans to die by the Votanis Collective Death Squad, along with her father Rafe, and her brother Quentin!  Please continue to remember these 3 members of the McCawley family in your thoughts and memories, as they rest in peace!

This is an interesting way of portraying them as a couple as mermaids.  I thought that was so sweet in the first season, how they were like Romeo & Juliet, and got married.  It didn't escape me that Christie's wedding gown looked like Kate Middleton's ;).  Or how, in the second season, she was learning the Castithan ways and had learned how to do intrigue from Stahma.  Alak is such a nice guy, I'm not sure how he grew up to be like that with such conniving parents like Datak and Stahma.

I think it was a really bad idea, killing of Christie like that.  You don't put 2 season's worth of effort into a romantic couple and then kill off one of the main characters like that.  I don't know who wrote the Season 3 episodes, but I really think they should be shot for trying their hardest to kill the show.  It's only gotten worse since that first episode.  I actually quit watching Defiance because of that, killing Christie and her dad off.  The brother was no loss because he was traitorous jerk who brought their homicidal maniac of a mother back, and betrayed their dad to the Earth Republic.  This sort of thing doesn't really work on Game of Thrones, why do they think it's gonna work on Defiance
